These bacon wrapped pork bites are so easy to make and are packed with flavor! You get sweetness from the maple syrup and saltiness from the bacon making them such a great appetizer to serve at your next party!

How To Make Bacon Wrapped Pork Bites

These bites remind me of the fancy hors d’oeuvres that are passed around at cocktail parties. But after making them, I realized making them is much easier than I thought! The steps just require you to wrap your pork in bacon and bake! Simple and SO delicious!

Cutting Your Pork Cubes

Starting with a pork tenderloin, you want to try to cut your pork into 1 1/4″ cubes. If I had to pick a “hard part” to making this recipe, I would say this is it. Only because you want your pork to be as uniform as possible! You don’t want some pork pieces cooked and some NOT. If your pork cubes are not perfect, that’s okay! Just remember, uniform size helps food cook evenly at the same rate so do your best.

Once your pork is cut, season generously with salt and pepper. You can also add some onion and garlic powder or even some cayenne pepper for an spicy kick! You can’t go wrong with the seasoning.

Wrapping Your Pork Cubes

This part is super simple. Just make sure your bacon slices are long enough to fully wrap your pork! If you need to cut your bacon slices in HALF, do that! Or, you can always make your pork cubes SMALLER so your bacon can fully wrap around each piece.

It is important to place your pork pieces cut-side down onto the baking sheet. This way, the bacon will stay put when it cooks rather than ‘shriveling’ up. (Shrivel is a word, right?)

You want to make sure your pork is cooked before you taken them out so use a meat thermometer! It will help you tell if the pork is ready quickly and easily!

Maple Dipping Sauce

This maple sauce is the easiest sauce in the world! Just mix together some maple syrup and polonaise! That’s it! The mayo adds some creaminess and helps to thicken the sauce. The syrup adds some more maple flavor and sweetness. It just pairs so well with pork!

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 6 people
Author: Aleka Shunk

Ingredients

  • 7 strips Thinly Sliced Bacon (Maple Flavored)
  • 1/2 lb. Pork Tenderloin
  • 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
  • Salt and Pepper

Maple Aioli

  • 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp Maple Syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • Cut your pork into 1¼" x 1¼" cubes. Then season with salt and pepper and set aside.
  • Cut your bacon strips into thirds and wrap each pork cube with bacon. The bacon should be long enough to wrap fully around each piece of pork. Place bacon wrapped pork cut-side DOWN onto a baking sheet. Repeat with all of the pork.
  • Bake pork bites for about 20 minutes or until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
  • While baking, make your maple sauce by adding your mayo to a small bowl. Then slowly pour in your maple syrup while whisking. (A whisk will make sure your sauce turns out smooth.)
  • Serve bacon wrapped pork bites hot with mini skewers/toothpicks alongside of your maple sauce for dipping!

Recipe Notes

Make sure you use thinly sliced bacon so the bacon will cook through without drying out your pork!
(If you don’t have thinly sliced bacon, just bake your thicker sliced bacon in the oven for 5-8 minutes prior to wrapping your pork cubes so they can finish cooking in the oven.)
You can make these bites ahead and keep them warm (200°F) in the oven.
You can also add these to a slow cooker with the sauce inside. *Double the sauce for this*
