These super easy Fruit Sticks With Coconut Yogurt Dip are fun AND healthy! Crunchy bites of fruit with a creamy coconut dip takes your average fruit platter to the next level!
Cutting Your Fruit Sticks
Okay, so this is the toughest part!
And I am not going to lie, it takes some time but the more meticulous you are, you better your presentation will look!
First, picking perfectly ripe fruit is very important. No one likes hard or mushy fruit.
Does anyone get intimidated picking watermelons?! It is so hard to pick a good one!
With that said, I think I discovered a new strategy! I’ve just started doing it and so far, so good…
What I do is press the rind with your thumb like your checking a flat tire. If it gives a bit, it is ready. Too much give? It may be overly ripe. Not much give? Under ripe.
Let me know if this worked for you. Comment below if you have a better, more reliable strategy!
So anyway, I chose to use only melons and pineapple because they are the largest fruits and can be made into longer sticks easily. Choose whichever of these you’d like! You can even try mango!
The good thing is, you have plenty of fruit to work with so if you mess up, just save the discarded fruit for the next day or freeze it for a smoothie or frozen drink!
Here is what I did…

You will need to create a flat surface on each melon by trimming off both ends. This will make the fruit nice and stable. Then trim rind using a sharp knife.

Do the same for the cantaloupe.

And again with the honeydew.

Because my watermelon was a bit larger, I trimmed the ends then cut the whole thing in half before trimming the rind.

Start by cutting your pineapple into four parts, minus the core. Discard core or give to your teething baby!!

Then take each large slice and shape it into a rectangle by trimming off round ends. (Freeze trimmings for you pina colada later!)

Now simply slice into desired sticks depending upon the size of your glass or serving tray.

Next, cut your melons in half if they are large. Then go about your slicing. Aim for 1/2″ slices.

Next, lay each 1/2″ slice flat and cut your sticks. Discard any small or rounded sticks.

Do the same thing with the cantaloupe…

…

Yay! Save any discarded fruit to snack on or freeze for another time! Your finished sticks should look somewhat similar! I did not trim off the pointed ends but you can if you want perfection!
Coconut Yogurt Dip
A super healthy fruit dip that is easy to make!
Greek yogurt is popular because of its thicker consistency.
Since the coconut milk has a thinner consistency, mixing the two together, makes it great for dipping the sticks into.
Keep in mind, if you do not use Greek yogurt, your dip may be more runny than you’d like!
Also, the cinnamon and vanilla make this dip extra yummy but it’s delicious if you just use yogurt and honey!
In Greece, they often will serve yogurt with honey drizzled on top for breakfast. They just go so well together.
Serving Your Fruit Sticks
You can serve these a few different ways!
Fancy, shmancy in tall clear glasses OR as a large fruit platter.
If you choose shot glasses/cups, it is easiest to pipe the dip rather than scoop it in. If you don’t have a piping bag, a ziplock bag works. Just snip off one corner.
This will help to keep it neat especially if you’re using a tall shot glass like I did.
Otherwise, just serve the dip in a small bowl on the side. I got a bunch of mine from Target. Get one or three! You’ll be surprised how often you use them!

These super easy Fruit Sticks With Coconut Yogurt Dip are fun AND healthy! Crunchy bites of fruit with a creamy coconut dip takes your average fruit platter to the next level!
- 1 Small Seedless Watermelon
- 1 Small Honeydew Melon
- 1 Small Cantelope
- 1 Fresh Pineapple
- 1 Cup Greek Yogurt
- 1/2 Cup Coconut Milk (canned)
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- 1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/8 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
-
Combine ingredients for coconut yogurt dip in bowl and set aside.
-
Cut fruit into sticks that are 3-4" long. See photos to see how I did it. Note, the sticks don't all need to be the exact same length but it looks neater. Save excess fruit for snacking or freeze it.
-
Serve as a platter with dip on the side or in individual portions.
Party Tips*
If you do not have clear shot glasses, you can buy clear plastic drinking cups to serve these in OR just spread onto a large serving dish with the dip in the center.
Note! The size of your sticks should be no shorter than the height of your shot glass so they can be dipped easily.
Use a plastic bag or piping bag to fill the glasses without making a mess!

July 26, 2025 at 4:04 pmKnowing that my arthritic hands would struggle with whole fruits and the cutting for the fruit sticks and that there would be too much fruit for our blood sugars, I used fruits already cubed from a local grocery. The dip was easy to make and delicious. I probably used a bit too much coconut milk, so added more yogurt to thicken it. Although we don’t have the beautiful presentation, we are enjoying the yummy fruits and dip.

July 31, 2025 at 1:47 pmCutting the sticks is definitely meticulous but is part of the pretty presentation. If it’s just a casual snack, no need to go through all that cutting!
The flavors will be delicious regardless!! 🙂
