A super quick way to whip up a sweet breakfast pastry in less than 20 minutes, these easy Blueberry Cheese Crescent Dough Rounds remind me of biting into a creamy blueberry danish! They are the perfect bite-sized treat for breakfast or brunch made with store-bought crescent dough.

Crescent Dough Shortcut
My inspiration for these rounds are danish. MY father makes THE BEST danish around. (If you don’t follow me here on the blog, my family has owned a bakery for the past 30+ years.)
I remember when I was working in the bakery, my favorite thing to do was to help him make the danish. NOT because it was easy, but because making danish from scratch is probably the most tedious thing in the world. Knowing that a warm flaky danish would be waiting for me in a few hours is what motivated me to finish. There is NOTHING better than a warm danish. Nothing. It is flaky and gooey and sweet and buttery and just something amazing.
If anyone knows me, I absolutely LOVE to make things from scratch. It is cathartic to me and very rewarding knowing I made something out of nothing. With that said, making danish dough is a tedious process that takes a LONG time to prepare.
So instead of preparing a homemade danish dough, I decided to use store-bought crescent dough instead!
Shortcut? Heck yes! That is what my recipes are about. Without compromising the flavor of course.
It is a super fast way to make these as danish like as possible. You could also use puff pastry dough if you have!
Have you tried my Healthy Grab-and-Go Banana Walnut Muffins? They are fast and another great breakfast option!!

Blueberry Cream Cheese “Danish”
Because danish dough takes a LONG time to prepare and also because this blog is dedicated to saving TIME, I used store-bought crescent dough as my “danish dough” to make these crescent dough bites. It resembles the same idea and tastes just as good.
More importantly, it is FAST! Thanks to the amazing puff pastry dough options they have available these days, it is ridiculously easy to work with.
All you need to do is defrost your dough in the FRIDGE (so it does not get gummy) then cut, fill and bake!
To save even MORE time, I used blueberry pie filling in a can. If you want to make your own fruit filling, you can! It isn’t that difficult. Just throw some blueberries (or any chopped fruit) into a saucepan with some sugar and cornstarch. Simmer until it reduces and thickens. It definitely tastes better but again, if you don’t have the time, the canned food aisle becomes my best friend.
I then mixed some cream cheese with sugar and lemon. That’s it!
You can eat these as a dessert OR of course, for breakfast with your coffee like I choose to do. My son absolutely LOVED these. (and he is currently 14 months old)
I guess he got his mama’s sweet tooth. š
Here are some of the tools I used when making these danish: If you don’t have one, throw it into your Amazon cart!
